It's raining here in Portland, which is pretty unusual for summertime (and according to my Mom, it's something called "Murphy's Law" since we just had the cement poured for our new terrace). All I know is that I haven't been able to play in the backyard for the last week and I'm getting B-O-R-E-D. But Dad has promised that as soon as the sun comes back, we are going for a long walk to the gelato store. Apparently, gelato is a fancy Italian ice cream and Dad is C-R-A-Z-Y for the stuff. My Mom likes it, too, but she always gets kind of huffy because the shop doesn't recycle its tiny little plastic cups. She takes them home with her but never found a good way to reuse them - until she remembered Lola's recipe for Frosty Paws and realized the gelato cups made perfect containers!! Now, everyone's happy...I get my Frost Paws and Mom and Dad can indulge in their gelato addiction.
